JT is a STUD! I can’t believe he’s only 19 years old. Damn he has a bright future ahead of him.

  • Jose says:

I think that JT Torres has the right combination of superior technique with patience and the ability to constantly think and adapt as the situation changes. This ofcourse has to do with his training and his thirst for more knowledge of himself as it applies to his art. He is definitely one of the top in his game and his continued success is only a clear indication of his mastery of himself in this craft.

  • Tony oliveira says:

good fight. good de la riva guard/sweeps for jt torres

  • Nicoco says:

Great match, I liked the way TJ try to set up De La Riva or something similar when Nogueira stands up but I”m a little blind and I couldn”t see very well the set up to Taking the Back at 3:58.

    Good video, thank”s for posting.

  • George Tavares says:

    liked it great fight

  • Ari Bolden says:

JT needs to embrace the 10thplanet system – If he would use Eddie Bravo’s rubber guard in the match, he would be unstoppable. You see, this is the problem with Jiu Jitsu nowadays, there is not enough emphasis on the new techniques that are being taught at revolutionary schools like 10th planet jiu jitsu.

I gotta admit i was clapping out loud for ya brother! NICE!!

Awesome fight! I like the back take!

  • Eric Konohia says:

GREAT match…way to GRIND it out JT

  • Jimmy says:

great time for the ref to “restart” the match, they were barely on the edge??? it’s hard enough to get in on the collar at that level, it’s damn near impossible to RE-WORK your way back in on a restart…too much time for the opponent to get his mind right! looked like he had a hand in the collar, then started in the “sitting back choke defense drill” position??? but, one can only speculate. really, a nice fight by both fighters! JT did a great job with his open guard and controlling with the body triangle when he took the back. he switched his guard seamlessly according to his opponents angles and showed his hustle to get the takeover. Nogueira was smart by not going down into JT’s closed guard & showed a great base on his feet! he went into a full on Karate horse stance, at one point, to defend against the De La Riva sweeps…awesome! it was impressive how he controlled with one hook in, put Nogueira’s neck in danger, then got that second hook in as quickly as he did, NICE! JT’s transitions were the difference in the match.

  • Robert says:

Wow! That was awesome! It was gut wrenching during the attempted guard pass at the end. I knew he was getting close, but good work JT! Keep the vids coming.

  • Andy says:

Hell yes JT! That was a great match. It isn’t easy to beat an Alliance competitor in Brazil, but you left nothing to chance by dominating the match. Great job, and way to represent!

Lloyd- you are doing an awesome job with all that you do for BJJ. Many thanks!

  • Michael says:

    Most impressive to date!!!!

  • rockson says:

nice game, pls, show video for leg lock
    thanks

  • That was great!

  • Keith says:

Looks like Nogueira lacked de la riva guard passing techniques. He seemed to get focused on that stupid foot lock. That was a bad game plan. JT is very controlling with collar and sleeve. There were a couple of times he possibly could have passed if he was proficient at some basic dela riva guard passes. But he didn’t even try.

  • vikvik says:

perfect timing! have a pal getting ready to take on a bigger opponent and we were going over some moves in the video. nice!

  • kappar says:

JT Great job. I give you alot of credit for stepping onto the mat, in Brazil, with the best Black Belts in the world. You displayed great technique, especially, given the fact that nogueira is 50 lbs heavier than you. keep it up!!! Kid. BBM.

  • tony says:

Again Jt shows his ability to keep his game plan together even when facing a guy with at least 50 pounds on him. the De la riva technique was great and could of been stopped most likely but it seemed leonardo thought he could muscle him around instead of using the guard pass. keep up the great work Jt. Your the man bro!

  • chad says:

im a newbie to gi bjj, but i have lots of experience without gi, so i wasnt sure what i was looking at…i couldnt see what he finished him with. the other guy didnt seem to have the upper hand through the whole match…nice job

  • Joe Villalpando says:

Awsome!Great job on getting the points needed to win and not comitting to something that might not have worked because all these guy black belts and are ready for anything.Very technical, keep up the great work Mr. Torres and good luck on future fights to come.

  • ezFlash says:

Very nice. I like your patient intelligent style.

Do you feel like you stick to a game plan at the expense of not going for as many attack as you normally might. Did you feel like you hesitate to go for attacks as not to risk giving up position in general? No offense whatsoever, just a question. Again, I admire your style greatly.

  • alex says:

    jt is the man!!

but eddy bravo and his techniques are a joke.

should we seriously take serious someone who emphasis drugs and stuff while training jiu jitsu?

    hell no
